Hi!
I’m using R6 Home inventory management all my devices allocated in the enterprise and I want to know if this open source can be modified by our programmers to export all data stored.
I’ll wait for comments, thank you very much, congratulations for your software
Hey Daniel,
R6 Home Inventory stores all of the data in a SQLite database and it can be accessed by using the sqlite3 command-line. Please refer to the following link for more information:
http://www.sqlite.org/sqlite.html
Let me know if you need more information.
Thanks!
Hi!
Congrats on your software!
Is it possible for me translate it into Brazilian Portuguese?
How could I do that?
I’d be glad to send you back the translation if you’d like to offer your software in portuguese.
Regards,
Walter
Hey Walter,
I think it would be great to translate R6 Home Inventory into Brazilian Portuguese. I currently don’t have code written in a way to include translations, however if you want to provide a list of words/phrases that need to be translated and the matching Brazilian Portuguese word/phrase, that would be awesome. Let me know if you are interested.
Best Regards,
Chris Roland
Is it possible to edit multiple items at once? Could you please email me the answer? Thanks. And thanks for the software.
One feature I would love to create more portability is a way to include a directory of jpegs inside of the program folder that is always locatable by the program. Currently, The jpegs are linked by absolute directory and filename, and if the file is not located there, the program crashes. Since this database may need to be accessible from a different computer (after a fire or theft) the data and program will by necessity have to be installed on a new computer in exactly the same way as the old. This also makes it difficult to run off of a thumb drive (via Creedo, etc.) without configuring the drive’s letter designation through compmgmt.msc
Hey Sharon,
I is not possible to edit more than one item at once, however I can add that to the list of new features that will be developed. If you have any further input on this feature I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Chris Roland
Hey mjones,
You make a good point and actually the program crashing is a bug. I was going to store the images within the home inventory file, but decided against it. Since it will make moving to another system easier, this may actually be the best solution at the moment. I’ll add this to the feature list for the next release.
Thanks,
Chris Roland
When will you have another release? Will your application work with Windows 7?
Started using the program today and have a question. Started adding categories and locations but don’t see any way to rearrange (sort) them. I’d like ability to move them around or at least sort them alphabetically.
Hey mercury52,
I haven’t tested it under Windows 7, however I’m re-writing the application under .NET which will run under Windows 7.
Regards,
Chris Roland
Hey mercury52,
Currently the program is unable to sort the categories or locations, however I’ll make sure that’s a part of the feature list in the next release. I’m planning the next release in the next month or so.
Thanks,
Chris Roland
I love the software but I have a problem with it crashing when I try to edit an item. Do you have a fix for that? Are you doing an update soon?
Oh yeah!! Is there a way to export the inventory to an excel file?
It’s a nice software. I’m glad to find it. I have one question: how many items can I add? 1,000? 5,000? 10,000?
I love your software, the only thing missing for me is the posibility to joint a PDF invoice to a record!
Hello, I am running version 2.2 and whenever I try to add a new item it always crashes. Is there anyway to correct this
After i closed the program and restarted my pc the program doesn’t let me save any new items or category’s
Great software! There are some major bugs when saving new added items. Program crashes in Vista.
But of more interest, I would like to be able to build multiple templates for multiple users.
Thanks,
Bronco
The application is simple and easy. Great. I have the application installed and running under Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit. I have not experienced a lot not issued under the OS. When entering Items, all the files are centered (name, manufacturer, category, location & item value). Is there a way to left justify the fields?
Also the window on the right had side is half the screen height. When you enlarge it, enter data, exit the application and restart it, the screen on the right returns to the half height position. Is there a way to set it to full screen and save settings on exit?
Please advise
Thanks a lot,
George
I like it! Simple to run, and the price is right. Program V2.2 had one crash when started under Vista, but then seems stable. Please add- Notes, Replacement Cost fields.
Hi! How can translate R6 Home Inventory to Norwegian. I want to let people download it for free on a new site i`m makeing.
Best regards
Paul
Hey Paul,
I’ll look at what’s needed to translate Home Inventory into Norwegian. I’m currently using Nokia Qt and they have awesome support for translating an application into basically any language. I’ll keep you posted.
Thanks,
Chris
Hey Dave,
I’ll add them to the list. I’m looking at updating Home Inventory to the latest version of Qt and adding other tasks, so notes and replacement costs may be a part of the next release.
Thanks,
Chris
Hey Bronco,
That’s an interesting feature, I can add it to the list and keep you updated. I think that feature is along the lines of how I thought Home Inventory would be used.
Thanks,
Chris
